One of the most common reasons people use fitness apps is to keep tabs on their weight, and Google Fit makes it pretty easy to track your weight on a regular basis. Once youve stepped off the scale with your weight noted, simply press the + button in the bottom right corner of the app to track your weight with the date and time in tow. From there, you can select the activity, the time it occurred, and fill out the time spent, any notes, and also fill in any other data you might have concerning the activity.
Which Device Is The Best Choice
This depends on what you want from your smartwatch. If you want accurate measuring of your blood pressure, then the Omron is the device for you. However, if you want a watch with more functionality, are happy to monitor your blood pressure through an app that you input manually, or you have a smart blood pressure monitor, then you may be better suited to one of the big brands.
Apple has the best range of features with the inbuilt heart rate monitoring and ECG function, as well as the ability to use third-party apps to monitor blood pressure.
Garmin offers a fantastic analysis of heart rate data and allows you to download apps that can monitor your blood pressure for you. However, ECG functionality has not yet been brought to Garmin watches.

How To Use A Home Blood Pressure Monitor
- Be still. Don’t smoke, drink caffeinated beverages or exercise within 30 minutes before measuring your blood pressure. Empty your bladder and ensure at least 5 minutes of quiet rest before measurements.
- Sit correctly.Sit with your back straight and supported . Your feet should be flat on the floor and your legs should not be crossed. Your arm should be supported on a flat surface with the upper arm at heart level. Make sure the bottom of the cuff is placed directly above the bend of the elbow. Check your monitor’s instructions for an illustration or have your healthcare provider show you how.
- Measure at the same time every day. Its important to take the readings at the same time each day, such as morning and evening. It is best to take the readings daily however ideally beginning 2 weeks after a change in treatment and during the week before your next appointment.
- Take multiple readings and record the results. Each time you measure, take two or three readings one minute apart and record the results using a tracker. If your monitor has built-in memory to store your readings, take it with you to your appointments. Some monitors may also allow you to upload your readings to a secure website after you register your profile.
- Don’t take the measurement over clothes.
