What Should You Consider Before Purchasing A Blood Pressure Watch
Firstly, you need to determine with which devices your watch is compatible. Most models can connect with a mobile phone, tablet, and laptop, while some only support smartphones. It will allow you to read texts and answer calls directly through your watch. You can also view the stats of your health collected by the smartwatch in an app installed on your connected device.
These smart gadgets are usually compatible with Android and iOS. The best blood pressure watches can also connect wirelessly via Bluetooth and sync with your mobile device to automatically download health-related data on their dedicated Android/iOS app.
Blood pressure watches come in various shapes, sizes, and colors. Since the main purpose of this device is to monitor your BP readings throughout the day, make sure to pick a design that matches your daily outfits. If you are not so concerned about whether it blends with your attire, then you must at least pay attention to the display size. Make sure it is not too small to read the stats easily. While you wont want to buy something bulky, you should invest in a watch with an elegant design and screen big enough to comfortably read the content.
Besides monitoring blood pressure, make sure your watch also has some additional built-in functionalities. Most devices come with a pedometer, calorie counter, sleep monitor, reminder, and heart rate monitor, along with a BP tracker.

Apple Wins Big Blood Pressure Monitoring Patent For Apple Watch
The Apple Watch Series 7 could get blood pressure monitoring, thanks to a new major patent thats landed from the Cupertino-based company.
Of course, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has blood pressure capabilities albeit not yet signed off by the FDA. However, its live in South Korea, and can take a blood pressure reading from the wrist. It must, however, be regularly validated and calibrated to a normal blood pressure monitor.
Apples patent also looks at how the company can take a blood pressure reading from the wrist. However, it seems that Apple has different ideas.
The main patent looks at the idea of a pressure sensor providing a non-invasive tonometric reading. That means gauging pressure and is the same kind of process used during an eye test.
The patent also refers to the idea that readings would have a secondary correction metric, effectively checking the devices readings for accuracy, and adjusting the score. We’re not sure if that would mean that the Watch wouldn’t need to be calibrated by a standard blood pressure device, like the Galaxy Watch.
The patent is open to interpretation, but it seems the Apple Watch band could have a major role to play.

Asus Vivowatch Bp A Cheap Option With An Accurate Ecg Feature And A Built
The second one is the quite new device by Asus, the Asus VivoWatch BP which is using a combination of EKG and PPG sensors to achieve a reading of the heart rate and health.
Both of the watches can serve also as fitness trackers as they have the ability to monitor heart rate, sleep patterns and activity.
The Asus is not a match to the amazing Apple watch 4 when referring to smartwatch abilities and features. However, the ECG feature will provide very accurate data, lots of users claimed that the apple watch 4 and this watch gave almost the same results in the ECG tests.
When taking into consideration that the Vivowatch BP comes with a built-in GPS and costs about half of the Apple Watch 4, it makes sense to think of it as your next purchase.
The main Con of this device is that it is a bit bulky, so if the size of the watch is a big issue for you then it might be your deal-breaker.
I dont have too much information regarding the accuracy of the Asus device and it is too early to make big assumptions about it, but from a first look, it looks too bulky with a very poor display.

Apples Blood Pressure Patent For Apple Watch Revealed
Apple has not one but TWO patents for accurately measuring blood pressure on Apple Watch. The first patent relates to an inflatable Apple Watch strap that can be used in conjunction with the Apple Watchs internal sensors to measure blood pressure.
Apple noted the following inside the patent filing: A low-profile blood pressure measurement system and methods of use are disclosed. The system includes an expandable member that has a multi-compartment structure and/or is mounted on a rigid surface or structure. The system may be incorporated into a portable electronic device, or maybe configured for use with, or to otherwise communicate with a portable multi-function device.
The second patent relates to the means of recording data inside watchOS and then sharing it with iOS on the iPhone. The application will be able to provide reminders on when to take measurements, log data of previous recordings, and allow the user to keep tabs on the ups and downs of their blood pressure over weeks and months at a time.
Can An Apple Watch Measure Blood Pressure
As of right now, It is not possible to measure your blood pressure on any of the Apple Watch models that are out there without the help of a connected blood pressure monitor.

What Is A Heart Monitor Sensor
Many smartwatches come with the required sensors to carry out health monitoring as standard. The sensors are found on the underside of the watch face. They always sit against the skin of your wrist. Most watches will come with instructions on where you need to position the watch on your wrist to ensure you receive the most accurate data. The sensors emit light that penetrates the skin and allows your watch to detect the blood flow. This can then be used to analyze how fast your heart is beating.
Some smartwatches have advanced features such as ECG functionality. The sensors for this do not sit under the watch face. Instead, they are accessible so that a finger can be placed on them. When a finger is placed on the sensor, the technology measures electrical signals. This indicates whether your heart has irregular or regular heart rate rhythms.
Apple Wants To Measure More Than Blood Pressure
The future Apple Watch devices will have additional health monitoring features, the Journal reports. This includes tracking other heart-related conditions. One of them might be monitoring irregular heart rhythms such as atrial fibrillation. The current Watch models can detect AFib in undiagnosed patients. But its not suited to track the condition.
Apple would require approvals from the FDA for expanding the AFib monitoring functionality on the Apple Watch.

Will Blood Pressure Monitoring Be Added To The Apple Watch
My next feature for the next Apple Watch is high blood pressure monitoring thats what i need for me due to I have high blood pressure how about u guys what features u want next on the Apple Watch maybe low blood sugar monitoring for diabetic people.
I dont see BP ever happening without a specialized band that would be too bulky for normal use. You can look at the medical system to see whats on the horizon, and theres nothing that can replace a pressurized device.
Glucose monitoring might be more realistic, if they can into a band. But by the time it comes around tattoos would probably be perfected and would be the way to go.

How To Measure Your Blood Pressure With Apple Watch
With the Apple Watch, it is possible to conveniently record your blood pressure and keep track of your heart rate on the go. For people living with heart-related health conditions, such as diabetes, this is one of the easiest ways to keep track of your heart health and blood pressure. In addition, you do not always need to visit the doctor to check your blood pressure, as you can now do so by yourself, all from the comfort of your home.
However, it is essential to note that you cannot measure your blood pressure only with the Apple Watch. Unlike other smartwatches such as the Galaxy Watch 3 or the famous Omron Heartguide, the Apple Watch needs to be paired with an external smart blood pressure monitor.
These devices are the only medically accurate way to measure your blood pressure as they stop the blood flow using a calibrated inflatable blood pressure cuffs. They often come with an additional app that must be installed on your Apple device. In essence, third-party medical devices will expand the Apple Watchs blood pressure capabilities.
You can either use the dedicated app provided by your favorite wireless blood pressure monitor makers or use an external app like the SmartBP app, which is compatible with numerous brands such as A&D, Omron, QardioArm, iHealth, or Withings. Be sure to check the compatibility requirements. Depending on the app, the results are usually color-coded for easy assessment.
